Connecting to Airbnb via iCal

Using Airbnb's API connection is always recommended over iCal due to its ability to push listing changes. In the event, where you need to use an iCal connection, use the method outlined below to ensure you have synchronized availabilities.

If you've already read the iCal Connection document, you will find the following instructions familiar. We will go into more detail about specifically sharing with your Airbnb account.

Exporting Sympl to Airbnb

  1. In Sympl: Find the "Channels" drop-down in the main menu bar at the top of your Sympl dashboard.

  2. Click the drop-down and select "iCal Channels" from the list.

  3. You will see a list of existing iCal connections on the left-hand side of the iCal Channels page. Just above that, you will see a circular blue "+" symbol button. Click that to open the drop-down menu.

  4. Select "Export Calendar" from the drop-down menu. This will open the Calendar Export window.

  5. Click the "Channel" list drop-down and select "Airbnb". Select the rental whose data you'd like to export. After that, you may click "Export".

  6. You will be presented with an iCal URL - copy this URL.

  7. In Airbnb: Navigate to your Airbnb account and go to "Manage Listings".

  8. Find the listing you'd like to synchronize with and click "Manage Listing".

  9. Above your listing preview, click "Availability", then click "Availability Settings" in your calendar view.

  10. Select "Import Calendar" (under "Sync Calendars").

  11. Paste your Sympl calendar's URL in the "Calendar Address" field and give your calendar a name.

  12. Click "Import calendar".

Import Airbnb to Sympl

  1. In Airbnb: Find the specific listing you'd like to synchronize with and click "Manage Listing", then click "Availability".

  2. Select "Export Calendar" (under "Sync Calendars"). You will be presented with an Airbnb calendar URL - copy this onto your clipboard and return to your Sympl dashboard.

  3. In Sympl: Find the "Channels" dropdown in the main menu bar at the top of your Sympl dashboard.

  4. Click the dropdown and select "iCal Channels" from the list.

  5. You will see a list of existing iCal connections on the left-hand side of the iCal Channels page. Just above that, you will see a circular blue "+" symbol button. Click that to open the dropdown menu.

  6. Select "Import Calendar" from the dropdown menu. This will open the Add Channel Connection window.

  7. Fill out the required data for your calendar - name, rental, and iCal URL (acquired from Airbnb in steps 1 & 2).

  8. If your details are correctly filled out, press "Import" to bring all existing data into Sympl and perform synchronizing updates.
